quassel-core software package provides distributed, KDE/Qt-based IRC client - core/server component, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install quassel-core
quassel-core is installed in your system.
Make ensure the quassel-core package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep quassel-core *
You will get with quassel-core package name, version, architecture and description in a table
